Set in 18 karat white gold, the diamond weighs approximately 0.40 carats with an approximate quality analysis of Clarity: SI2, Color: G-H.

Accenting the center diamond are eight baguette cut synthetic emeralds. The synthetic emeralds do show signs of wear consistent with the age of the ring. These are synthetic emeralds and not glass--they have the SAME physical, chemical and optical properties of the ones made by mother nature, ONLY difference is these were made in a lab. Please note that stones were being synthesized as early as the mid 1800's. When it came to these accent stones, be they sapphire, ruby or emerald they usually used synthetic s because to cut the stones in the more decorative shapes there was a lot of breakage so they did not want to use the natural stone...therefore, the synthetics! Many people will confuse synthetic with simulant! Simulants DO NOT have the same physical, chemical and optical properties of the natural stone--and are usually glass or some other imitation!
