Vintage 14k Black Onyx & Pearl Bar Pin Brooch

I love this pin! I do believe that the pearl was an "add on." In the Victorian period black onyx jewelry was worn as mourning jewelry. Usually there was a black onyx design or cameo in the center. Perhaps the center decoration broke or came off and someone added the pearl. I think it was a brilliant addition. It gives the bar pin a whole different look and makes it look like it came from the Art Deco period. Wear it as a pin on a jacket lapel OR pin it to a strand of pearls to create a very unique and creative look!
