Vintage brass necklace/pin with with what appears to be an Elk or a Ram in 3 dimension on a very decorative engraved plaque.  Dropping from the main plaque is a geometric dangle.  This necklace has hints of the Art Deco period, Retro Period and the Greek Revival period.  It is really very unusual and quite stunning!  The pendant is supported by a brass (base metal) chain measuring approximately 18 inch chain and is secured by a spring ring.  The back of the main plaque has a pin so the chain can be removed and then worn as a pin. 

Dorothy Gallun founded Dorothy Gallun Jewelry in Wisconsin in 1950.  At 98 years of age she still comes to the store every day.  Patty Gallun Hansen, Dorothy's daughter is now in business with her mother.  Patty graduated and earned her Graduate Gemologist degree in residency at the Gemological Institute of America in California.
