A beautiful example of Victorian mourning brooch.  Tightly woven hair in rows in an oval shaped locket area and surrounded by pearls.  Soldered on the back of the brooch is a bale that folds up and down.

Metal:  Rolled gold plate that tested 14 karat.  Accented with black enamel. Bale goes up and down to be worn as a pendant or brooch.
Gemstone:  Pearls surround the oval locket area of hair.
