Victorian stone cameo...the cameo is the profile of a woman with earrings and hair in an "up-do" measuring approximately 21.57mm x 15.89mm and is considered to be in very good condition.  Set in a 14 karat yellow gold multi-split shank the ring mounting dates to approximately the 1980's.  Cameo's  have been called little works of art and have been being carved since approximately 332 BC.  For years cameos were used as photos.....Roman and Greek emperors and rulers were immortalized in stone or shell as well as Roman Gods and Goddesses.  Josephine, Napoleon and Queen Victoria all loved cameos and wore them often.   Ring Size:  5-1/2 can be sized
